WHAT IS CBD? WHAT IS FULL SPECTRUM (CBD+THC)?

CBD is short for Cannabidiol, a chemical compound isolated from the hemp plant. CBD is one of many diverse chemical compounds, called Cannabinoids (see below). Cannabinoids are known for their medicinal properties.

The majority of focus surrounding Cannabis has been on the cannabinoid, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). In recent years, more and more research has shown that using CBD may offer promising results without having to experience the psychoactive effects that come with using high amounts (no pun intended) of THC. Chill Frog CBD uses CBD+THC, or full spectrum hemp oil, to maximize the calming benefits within our products.

HOW IS HEMP DIFFERENT THAN MARIJUANA?

Both hemp and marijuana are compounds from the same cannabis plant. THC is the big differentiator between the two. Marijuana typically contains 15% to 20% THC and using it results in the psychoactive effect of “getting high.” Hemp on the other hand contains 0.3% or less THC by volume, making it nearly impossible to experience this effect.

WHAT ARE CANNABINOIDS?

Cannabinoids are a group of chemical compounds that can be found in hemp plants and naturally in the human body. All mammals have the Endocannabinoid System which consists of receptors that regulate key functions in the body like pain sensation, motor regulation, digestion, and sleep among others. These receptors, commonly known as CB1 and CB2 receptors, can turn off & on. Cannabinoids can help to unlock them when they are off to help achieve a balanced state.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF CBD?

CBD ISOLATE

Through an extraction process, all cannabinoids are removed except CBD. So lonely!

BROAD SPECTRUM

Broad Spectrum contains the same naturally-occurring cannabinoids as Full Spectrum,

but uses a refining process to completely remove THC.

FULL SPECTRUM

Full Spectrum products, like Chill Frog CBD, contain the whole hemp plant’s naturally-occurring cannabinoids including terpenes, THC (<0.3%), CBD and others. These all work together to create what's known as the Entourage Effect.

THE ENTOURAGE EFFECT

In our Full Spectrum CBD, all of the cannabinoids, terpenes, and phytochemicals in the hemp plant are extracted alongside CBD, including trace amounts of THC (<0.3%). All of the cannabinoids work together in a unique way to create the calming entourage effect and help you enjoy the full benefits of the hemp plant.

The Entourage Effect Research suggests that in Full Spectrum CBD products, the extracted natural cannabinoids leverage a symbiotic relationship that promotes the functions of each individual cannabinoid (including THC) and their potential benefits. Look at those frogs working so well together!
